Nowruz is the Persian New Year, celebrated on the first day of spring—a time of renewal, fresh beginnings, and gathering with loved ones.
A special part of Nowruz is the Haft-Seen table, filled with meaningful symbols: sabzeh (sprouts) for growth and new beginnings, seeb (apple) for health and beauty, seer (garlic) for protection, serkeh (vinegar) for patience, samanu (sweet pudding) for strength and abundance, senjed (dried fruit) for love, and somāq (sumac) for the sunrise and light. You may also see a goldfish for life, a mirror for reflection, and candles for warmth and happiness.
